Medford EDA reports business openings and grants; declines to sell city land to Schmidts

At 5:34 p.m. the Medford Economic Development Authority heard a director's report from Max Sherard, who said the downtown pharmacy is reopening and that Journey Nutrition plans to open at 110 W. Cherokee once plumbing issues are fixed and health inspections are passed. Sherard reported awarding of a USDA Rural Business Development Grant to Pure Good, LLC and progress on the ODOC Sites Ready Program to develop a second industrial park.
The EDA also considered a request to sell or gift city-owned land to Daniel and Trilby Schmidt to place a single-wide trailer; Gary Bowen moved and Rick Cardwell seconded a motion to not sell or gift the property, and the motion carried unanimously. The EDA then approved Resolution No. 6.42 adopting the 2024–2025 Medford EDA budget and approved routine minutes, financials ($122,199.59) and claims ($145,720.31) as recorded in the minutes.
