EDA report: streetlight plan, demolition bids and downtown business openings noted

The Medford Economic Development Authority met at 5:26 p.m. following the City Council session and received an Economic Development Director report.
The director said they met with OG&E on April 1 for a Streetlight Improvement Plan site visit; Phase 1 focus areas include HW 81, E. Cherokee Street, S. Main St., N. Main St., W. Cherokee St., and city parks. The director reported soliciting new bids for demolition of 111 and 113 E. Cherokee Street and said tree watering has begun and will continue through the summer. The OneOK rebuild was cited as driving interest in local rental properties. The director also said the EDA is working on a city-wide texting program and is seeking a part-time position to handle Community In Action event planning. The minutes note a new downtown business — Gym, Tan, Laundry, LLC — owned by Tyler and Megan Kretchmar; the gym is open and the laundromat is scheduled to open soon.
EDA approved its routine administrative items (minutes, financial report and claims) and adjourned at 5:53 p.m.
