The Medford City Council declared two parcels of land surplus and acted to reclaim another parcel following terms of a 2023 real estate agreement.
Council declared a roughly 3-acre tract in 28-27-5 (south of the airport, between the runway and lots west of Industrial Park Road) surplus and authorized selling the property. The motion was made by Mayor Gary Bowen and seconded by Debbie Kretchmar and passed unanimously.
Council also declared a roughly 3.5-acre tract in the northwest corner of 27-27-5 (the former Nichols Farm at the County Road 960/Haskell Road intersection, still containing a barn and silos) surplus; the motion by Steve Zeman, seconded by Debbie Kretchmar, carried unanimously.
Separately, the Council discussed carrying out Paragraph Three of the April 10, 2023 Real Estate Agreement with John Crocker, which stated that the property would be returned to the City if houses were not built by February 2025.
