James Brant of the Department of Public Safety asked the board to accept sponsor payments and room donations to offset expenses for the 9th annual Local Emergency Planning Committee summit. Brant listed $500 payments from Kent Fire Protection and All American Fire, $250 from FirstNet/AT&T, and two donated hotel rooms (an estimated $190 value and a $97 value), saying the approval would bring total sponsorship funds to $4,887.
Commissioners confirmed an organizational-name correction on the record and approved accepting the funds and in-kind donations by voice vote. Brant said the planning committee values the support from those agencies and asked the board to authorize acceptance so funds and donations can be applied toward the October summit.
