Residents and committee members raised safety concerns about parked cars and speeding on Memorial Hill, reporting an increase to roughly four cars parked overnight in some spots and describing narrow lanes that complicate emergency access. "The parked cars on night ... it's been until recently where it is, like, now 4 cars on average," Committee member said, urging the board to revisit prior discussions about moving the center line or restricting parking.
Speakers cautioned that moving the center line could affect the fire department’s access and that some blocks are too narrow for parking on both sides. Staff suggested coordinating with the fire department and assessing specific block widths; a resident also asked the board to consider traffic calming on adjacent curves where people drive fast. Staff will examine options and return with recommendations.
