Kenneth H. Brown selected mayor; Patrick Bomba sworn in as deputy mayor

The Carneys Point Township Committee on Jan. 2 unanimously elected Kenneth H. Brown as mayor for 2025 and swore him into office. Assemblywoman Heather Simmons administered the oath after Committee member Patrick Bomba nominated Brown and Dr. Johnson seconded the nomination.
Brown then asked for a moment of silence for former President Jimmy Carter. Later in the meeting Brown nominated Patrick Bomba as deputy mayor; Dr. Johnson seconded and a roll call confirmed Bomba. Assemblywoman Heather Simmons administered the oath to Bomba. The committee noted Mrs. Shaw was absent due to surgery; other members present approved the nominations by unanimous vote.
