Carneys Point to pursue 2025 Local Freight Impact Fund grant; approves $5,595 for application services

Carneys Point will apply for the 2025 Local Freight Impact Fund to seek larger roadway funding awards that go to fewer municipalities, township Engineer Steve Cosaboon said at the Nov. 18 meeting. The committee approved a $5,595 professional services proposal to prepare the application.
Cosaboon told the committee the grant differs from typical NJDOT roadway funding because it distributes larger awards to fewer recipients. He said the project team will study Stumpy Road for the application and that, "this grant requires a minimum of 10% heavy truck traffic to qualify," so traffic strips will be placed to gather data.
