The Carneys Point Township Committee unanimously approved Resolution 2024-207 on Nov. 6 to authorize an extension of the NJDOT Municipal Aid grant for Walker Avenue Phase II.
Mr. Pelura explained the extension was requested through the township engineer’s office; "one Engineer retired and this application got lost in the change," he said. The committee approved the extension and instructed staff to proceed with the consultant paperwork necessary to keep the project active.
The approval preserves the township's eligibility for municipal-aid funding on Walker Avenue while the engineer-of-record transition is finalized. Next steps include confirming grant deadlines with NJDOT and updating project schedules with Alaimo Group (the engineer previously assigned to the application).
