A department chief who identified as Chief Allyn said the proposed FY2027 budget includes a cost-of-living adjustment and a pension multiplier change that will affect long-term pay. "It's the 1st time since I've been here that we've done a cost to live and raise," the chief said, and added that staff and department heads appreciate the recognition.
Commissioners said the adjustments are intended to make city positions more competitive and to reduce turnover. They asked departments and the public for input on retention strategies as the commission balances personnel costs against fiscal constraints.
