Sheriff reports higher crash counts, steady clearance rates and staffing vacancies in June report

On index crimes Holloway reported an 85% clearance rate for Group A offenses (13 offenses with six arrests) and a 72% clearance rate on Group B offenses. The sheriff said overall incident responses fell from 2,680 to 2,459 during the month but that motor vehicle crashes rose to 55 (the highest of the year). The average daily jail population was 101 for the month, and the sheriff reported four vacancies in the jail division and seven vacancies in the law enforcement division.
Holloway also noted training hours tracked for each division, listed recent donations (including $5,000 received during the month) and described geographic crash clusters near FM 1948 and other typical high‑traffic corridors.
The court moved to approve the sheriff's monthly report, the motion was seconded and the report was accepted by voice vote.
