The Sevier County Beer Board voted March 10 to revoke the beer permit for Jimmy Market #12 (Floyd’s Market) at 12221 Chapman Hwy in Seymour after an underage-sales citation dated Nov. 21, 2024 (Case No. 202438048) was presented to the board.
The permit holder, Muhammad Usman Fayyazi, was out of the country and did not appear; store manager Mark Staats represented the business and told the board the store had updated registers to require ID scans for beer and tobacco sales and had retrained all employees. "Register updates done at the store requiring ID’s to be scanned for beer and tobacco sales, all employees have been retrained," Staats said.
Board member Chad Ogle said he understood the issue had become widespread at the store and moved to revoke the beer permit; Greg Houk seconded the motion. The motion passed unanimously with six yes votes and one member absent. The minutes do not record any temporary suspension or an appeal process discussed during the meeting.
