Ross Valley Sanitary District’s general manager told the board the district’s credit rating was upgraded by Fitch from double-A to double-A plus, a step he described as progress toward long-term financial goals.
The district also received CSRMA’s 2025 workers’ compensation excellence award. GM Steve credited Christina Winickie, Christina Velasquez and O&M superintendent Josh Hill for preparing a comprehensive application file that satisfied CSRMA’s criteria. The award includes a $50,000 prize split among three recipient agencies; the cash distribution to employees varies by agency size and could range from $50 up to a few hundred dollars per person.
Staff said the award also lowers insurance costs and reduces the district’s employment-practices liability deductible from $50,000 to $25,000 for a separate deductible-reduction recognition.
Board members praised staff and noted the recognition aligns with the district’s strategic priorities to improve financial standing and workplace safety.
