Council approves $15,000 amendment to Chamber parade security agreement

Parks Director Lina Hicks (S3) explained that the $15,000 the council had previously authorized would be allocated as follows: $8,500 for barriers to line the parade route, $2,500 to cover overtime for six additional city staff, and $4,000 to the chamber for hiring security and event staffing. "This would just kind of break it up, of how we're going to spend it," Hicks said, and staff recommended approval. Council moved to approve the resolution and the motion passed on an oral 'aye' vote.
What happens next: The mayor is authorized to execute the amendment so the Chamber and city can finalize contracts and staffing for parade security.
