The Ross Valley Sanitary District authorized the general manager, upon counsel review, to execute Task Order No. 13 with Somas Inc. for construction‑management services for the Fairfax capacity and creek crossings project in an amount not to exceed $541,523. Staff recommended Somas based on past work in the district, knowledge of neighborhood constraints, and experience in multimethod sewer projects requiring close community coordination.
Phil Benedetti said Somas has assembled a team familiar with the district’s expectations and that a construction manager will be essential for coordinating contractor activity, community outreach, and utilities coordination. Board members asked how time and materials would be handled if the schedule extended; staff said the task order includes contingency in the not‑to‑exceed amount and that further amendments would be required if exceptional delays occurred. The motion to authorize Somas carried unanimously.
