Commissioner Truelove moved to approve the use of Riverwalk Park on Saturday, June 13, 2026, from 6:30 to 11:30 a.m. for the purpose of a kid’s fishing derby; the motion was seconded by Commissioner Banzet and carried. Later in the meeting Administrator Jones and Chief Hubbell presented a proposed donation of Genesis Rescue Tools — “jaws of life” equipment — to the City of Altoona Fire Department. Commissioner Banzet moved to approve the donation; the motion was seconded by Commissioner Truelove and carried. The board also discussed proposed changes to pool operating hours with Water Plant Director Michael Grogan and Pool Manager Tracy Edwards and, after discussion, Commissioner Banzet moved to table the item to the April 22, 2026 meeting; the motion carried.
The meeting opened at 4:00 p.m. with Mayor Devin Johnson presiding and adjourned at 5:34 p.m. The board invited public comments and scheduled its next regular meeting for April 22, 2026 at City Hall.
