Curriculum staff recommended the board approve purchase of the 2025 edition of America's History for the AP U.S. History course, replacing a 2006 edition currently in use. Staff said the new edition includes teacher materials and digital access, and that the board curriculum committee reviewed the book. "The current textbook that he has is a 2006 edition, and so it's pretty outdated," a staff presenter said, recommending the updated purchase.
A motion to approve the purchase for $10,813.05 was made (motion by Polk, second by Merrigan) and the board approved the expenditure. Staff noted the purchase will include both digital and print editions and access to a test bank for course alignment.
