A staff member told the commission that the house “was built in 1957” and is rated as a contributing resource in the Carmel Pike Township historic‑architecture survey; staff reported no site plans or elevations have been submitted and that the demolition filing triggered a 60‑day delay expected to expire around Aug. 23.
Andy Guljas, identifying himself as facilities‑management coordinator for the Diocese of Lafayette, said the property would be incorporated into the congregation’s long‑term campus master plan as green space. Staff said relocation is an alternative under the demolition‑delay procedure but that it is unlikely without an available lot and associated expense; staff said, because the house is not in a locally designated historic district and is only a contributing resource, staff reluctantly recommended the commission allow removal absent further documentation. The commission asked the applicants to submit the long‑range master plan for the record and did not take additional action at the meeting.
