Board OKs $284,738.54 furniture purchase for Westmore Elementary modernization
Summary

District staff presented the request to purchase furniture for the Westmore Elementary modernization project, noting the purchase covers only the sections of the building that will be under construction this summer and does not yet include the office addition that will be completed later in the project.
The administrator explained the district has a standard for furniture by grade bands and has used School Specialty for recent purchases at Roosevelt, Longfellow and Lincoln Heights. The board moved and seconded to authorize Mary Anne Carlson to enter an agreement with School Specialty for the Westmore Elementary furniture purchase in the amount of $284,738.54, to be paid from the depreciation fund. Trustees voted and the motion carried.
Administrators said installation is scheduled for late July and that outstanding furniture needs for the addition may require a future board approval when specifications are finalized.
