Board approves $81,386.30 purchase of Summer Scholars curriculum materials

The board moved (Polk) and seconded (Lang) the purchase for $81,386.30 and approved it on voice vote.
Board members asked about the lifetime of the materials and whether consumables would require annual purchases; administrators replied the core materials are effectively permanent while consumable workbooks would be an annual expense if used. The district noted the curriculum would cover K–8 needs and the high school uses a separate program.
