Commission accepts donations for Special Olympics, skate park and Regner Beach event

Carolyn read a list of recent donations to the department: $206 from the West Bend Friends of Park and Recreation for park signage; $17.56 from a Special Olympics brat fry; memorial gifts in honor of local volunteers; a $100 check from Going Beyond Bridal; $1,000 from Fox Brothers Piggly Wiggly (charity program); a $100 anonymous cash donation to the skate park fund; and $1,656 from Gears Bike Group (proceeds from the Regner Beach Beer Garden held June 5, 2026).
"Just today, I received 1 more donation for a check from a for a $100 from Going Beyond Bridal," Carolyn said while listing donors and amounts. The commission moved to accept the donations and to include the anonymous $100 in the York fund; the motion was seconded and carried by voice vote.
Staff thanked donors and volunteers and noted ongoing fundraising and memorial gifts supporting the Special Olympics program.
