Braden presented an Eagle Scout project to build new stairs and a 5-by-10-foot fishing platform at Ridge Run Park to improve access to the river and create a small fishing destination.
"I'm hoping to get your approval of being able to do build this fishing deck and landings," Braden said, and said the materials cost would be roughly $600 and that a donor contacted during his outreach said they would donate the money for materials. Dan and staff reviewed on-site plans and drawings and told commissioners they supported the design.
Commission members asked about exact placement (to the left of a large tree by the water) and construction logistics; Braden said he and his scout troop will do the cutting at his home and transport materials by trailer to install the structure. A motion to approve the project was made and seconded and carried by voice vote.
The project record notes donor support for materials and the commission encouraged Braden to coordinate with staff on site placement and footing details before construction.
