Engineering Manager Scott Schroder said staff needs the relocation to provide space for equipment and parking and to reduce response difficulties when alarms occur. Joanna Rembis, the TKE engineer assigned to the project, appeared by teleconference and reviewed the proposed engineering scope and cost with the board. "Vice President Boydston MOVED, and Director Reynolds SECONDED, to approve the contract with TKE Engineering for Lift Station #2 Relocation." The motion carried with all five directors recorded as ayes.
Board discussion included questions about site access and construction staging; public comment was received during the agenda item. The contract award authorizes staff to proceed with the engineering phase, after which the Board will consider construction bids and additional appropriations if required.
