Board awards $39,183 procurement for Corporation Yard interior doors; staff to install

Engineering Manager Scott Schroder explained the Corporation Yard bid omitted interior doors and the District solicited quotes for 17 commercial doors and hardware. Two estimates arrived: one included doors and installation at over $100,000; the other (RBI) would supply doors only.
District staff elected to install the doors in-house to save money. The Board approved a $39,183 procurement contract with RBI for the doors; Schroder estimated total project costs, including engineering and inspections, of about $47,804. Director Morris noted an estimated $60,000 savings for ratepayers and President Wurm thanked staff for "saving the rate payers money."
The Board authorized the General Manager to execute the contract. Staff will schedule delivery and coordinate in-house installation to meet project timelines.
