The Comal County Commissioners Court approved several public-safety and court-technology items on Feb. 6. The court approved creating a new corporal position (017475009) in the sheriff's office and accepted an addendum to the interlocal agreement with Comal Independent School District related to school resource officer (SRO) coverage, with staff noting plans to return in March to finalize additional slots once positions are filled.
The court also approved a line-item transfer in the sheriff's office to reclassify funds from capital equipment to noncapital equipment after ticket-rider price increases changed item classification. Separately, Constable Cheatham requested $6,382 from Justice Court technology funds to purchase one new and one replacement ticket-rider device for Precinct 2; he described improved legibility and lower unit cost and the court approved the expenditure.
