Parks & Rec plans fee changes, tighter parade participation rules, and holiday events

Lau told council that "if a company doesn’t pay to be a part of the parade, they either are not welcome next year, or they must pay for both years to be a part of the event," and said she noticed favorable media coverage and convenience of Red Lion's parking. She also announced holiday events: Santa breakfast on Dec. 6 at 8 a.m. and a story time at the library on Dec. 14 at 1 p.m.
Parks & Rec plans to bring a fee-schedule resolution for Dec/Jan 2026 that would charge food trucks a flat rate (no percentage of income), increase rec classes to $10 per person, and offer both full-day and hourly community-center rental rates. The department is also evaluating donation procedures and whether a council member should sit on the ROARS board to help coordinate fundraising.
