Council names new planning-commission appointee and budget-advisory members

The Ridgefield City Council approved several appointments at its June 23 meeting.
Mayor Cole nominated Michael Hornbeck to the Planning Commission, describing him as a five-year Ridgefield resident, a Horizon Airlines captain and vice president of Teamsters Local 2124 with prior airport planning experience. Councilor Fevella moved the nomination and Councilor Buerkle seconded; the council approved Hornbeck by voice vote.
Mayor Cole also nominated Diana Barnett to serve as the citizen representative on the 2027 Budget Advisory Committee. Barnett, who the mayor described as chief of staff at Refresh Therapy and skilled in operations and finance, was moved for appointment by Councilor Hamilton and seconded by Councilor Davis; the council approved the appointment by voice vote.
Finally, the council appointed its own members Ryan Davis and Megan Hamilton to the budget advisory committee; Chipman moved and Wells seconded the council appointments, which passed by voice vote. No roll-call tallies were given in the transcript.
