County administrator Nathan updated the board on exploratory work around a potential countywide housing study and a museum grant. "There's some grant dollars potentially out there," Nathan said, describing preliminary discussions with village managers and a grant writer about whether an MSHDA grant could support a study to assess housing stock and needs in Sanilac County.
Nathan also reported that the Port St. Olaf Museum reached out about a grant opportunity for infrastructure upgrades, including electrical work and ADA improvements. He said he would write a letter of support on behalf of the county if the board had no objection; commissioners indicated support for staff to proceed with the museum letter and to continue preliminary discussions about a housing study.
