A staff reader told the board the proposed changes would take effect 07/01/2026 and include a 5% increase for water rates (residential, commercial and industrial) and a 10% increase for sewer rates (residential, commercial and industrial enterprise zones). The notice said a full schedule of proposed rates is on file at the county administrator's office.
No one signed up to speak at the water and sewer rates hearing, and the chair closed that item after the notice was read. The reading reiterated that the board would follow statutory public hearing procedures and that any final decision will occur in a later meeting once required revenue information and the General Assembly budget are settled.
