The council accepted three donations: $500 from JCL Property Maintenance for the Mayhem Summer of Music, $200 from Art and Lisa Jacobs for the tractor show, and a partial payout of $260,000 from the estate of Jim Michaelis to be used for the ambulance service. Clerk (S2) explained the estate payout was a partial distribution and that the ambulance service received a quarter of the estate.
Staff also noted Mr. Michaelis has an outstanding ambulance bill and asked whether council wished to permit using part of the estate payout to clear that balance before receiving the remainder into the ambulance fund. The council voted to accept the donations and asked staff to proceed with the administrative handling of the estate funds and billing question.
