The Sperry Board of Trustees voted unanimously March 26 to submit an application to the Indian Nations Council of Governments (INCOG) Community Development Block Grant (CDBG) program to replace the Elgin waterline and add three fire hydrants.
Mayor Robert Morton moved to submit the application and Trustee Gary Callahan seconded. The board recorded five yes votes — David Cassidy, Patrick McCotter, Gary Callahan, Robert Morton and Melody Anderson — and no votes: none. The motion selected the Elgin waterline project and the addition of three fire hydrants; meeting minutes list the materials-only estimate for the Elgin waterline at $58,461 and an approximate hydrant cost of $3,100 each.
The vote followed a public hearing in which project options were presented to the board. The trustees also approved Resolution 2026-03 at the same meeting to formalize the town's submission. The meeting adjourned at 6:55 p.m.
