"Now therefore be resolved, the Smyth County Board of Supervisors declares the week of May 17th to May 23rd 2026 to be Emergency Medical Services Week in Smyth County and honor those men and women whose diligence and professionalism keep our county and citizens safe," the resolution text read. The board voted unanimously to adopt the measure and asked supervisors to extend thanks to EMS personnel.
