County accepts $116,050 ATUPA grant to fund youth compliance and community health work

Deputy Commissioner Lisa K. Lahiff and Gretchen Riordan described implementation: funds will underwrite portions of two community-health-worker positions and youth compliance workers who conduct underage purchase attempts in retail settings. Riordan said staff conduct tobacco purchase attempts with youth compliance workers and flavored vape purchase operations with adult workers. County counsel clarified that questions about enforcement of Kratom retail restrictions were subject to state rulemaking following a near-simultaneous state action.
