Katie Coyne was sworn in as a new member of the Board of Education, representing Beachwood Borough. At the start of the meeting, an official brought Coyne forward and administered the oath; she recited the pledge to support the U.S. and New Jersey constitutions and affirmed she possessed the qualifications prescribed by law to serve as a board member.
The swearing-in occurred during the meeting's opening business, immediately before roll call and the board's executive-session motion. The board welcomed Coyne and she later said she looked forward to serving students, families and the community with their best interests in mind.
