Board approves letter opposing proposed sustainable aviation fuel tax credit

John Olsen explained that the request came from CSAC and framed the issue as preservation of tax dollars that the state currently sets aside from gasoline to maintain local roads. "What the governor is trying to do right now is just take back part of those monies and set it aside for other purposes that are not road related," Olsen said. Supervisor Howard and other board members discussed how aviation fuel tax dollars historically support local airports and the county's longstanding effort to secure those funds. The motion to approve the letter was made, seconded, and carried by unanimous vote.
