Board extends filing deadline for Beechwood seat to Sept. 10 after community feedback

At the meeting the board announced it will extend the filing deadline for the vacant Beechwood Board of Education seat to September 10 at 4:00 p.m. "Anyone interested in submitting a petition for the Beechwood member of the Toms River Regional Schools Board of Education may do so until September 10 at 4PM," Speaker 7 told attendees.
Multiple board members and residents urged the extension after community feedback that the original notice period was too short and produced incomplete applications. One board member said many of the packets received were not substantially complete and recommended giving Beachwood residents additional time to prepare applications. An applicant, Chris Verlison, introduced himself at the meeting and said he looks forward to working with the board if selected.
