In the superintendent's report, Dr. Wilds said she spent the week visiting the district's Extended School Year (ESY) and Expanded Learning Opportunities Program (ELOP) where the district partnered with Star to provide summer programming and services.
"Our kitchen balcony overlooks the school, and these teachers are so amazing and hilarious... The day starts with bubbles and songs and dance battles," Dr. Wilds said, describing the classroom environment and thanking staff. She also singled out Jay Petch, the director of maintenance, saying he had been at all three campuses ‘about every hour’ helping prepare the sites for summer operations.
Dr. Wilds thanked maintenance and operations staff for scrub, paint and other work done during the June transitions and said the partnership let students access services in the ESY program.
