Board approves developer-fee justification study; staff says developer fees brought in $256,000 this year

District staff presented the developer fee justification study prepared by Jack Schroeder and Associates and recommended the board approve it to maintain and potentially increase the developer fee rate that funds district capital needs outside of LCFF funding.
"This year, it brought in building permits $256,000," Miss Montalvo said, describing the permit revenue that flows into the developer fee fund. Staff said the study supports setting a fee rate that would allow the district to fund items such as classroom furniture and other non-LCFF expenditures. The board moved to approve item 11.1 and adopted the recommendation by voice vote.
Board members noted that developer-fee revenue fluctuates with local construction activity; a presenter observed the district previously collected much less in lean construction years. One board member suggested sharing the study with the city so municipal staff are aware of the district's calculations and potential rate change.
