Alan Jay said his son — born Sept. 1 — experienced challenges with emotional regulation and sitting through organized activities in daycare. After reviewing state code and speaking with education attorneys and CDE contacts, he asked the board to add an agenda item to create an application and assessment procedure for late‑start TK rather than automatically denying requests. President Barrow thanked him and said staff would "look into that, and perhaps someone can get back to you."
