The Hermosa Beach City School District board voted to approve its 2025–26 comprehensive school safety plan after staff said the document was developed in consultation with school administrators, staff and local emergency responders in accordance with California Education Code requirements. A staff presenter told the board the plan runs 186 pages and is available for viewing by appointment.
Board members asked about the district’s normal review process with city departments; staff said they typically meet with city fire and police in January and incorporate any feedback, and they discussed required notification templates related to immigration‑enforcement incidents now included in plans under new state guidance.
