S.D. DOT reports $1.79M in March construction change orders; several projects see large adjustments

Craig Smith, Division Director of Operations, presented the Department's March construction change orders, reporting that CCOs completed in March resulted in a $1,789,700.59 increase to original contract amounts; over the past 12 months, the total change to original contracts increased by 1.77%.
Smith highlighted specific projects: IM 0295(46)139 (I-29 S from SD 30 to SD 28) showed a net change to date of $1,055,002.67 after a $287,314.36 CCO to adjust quantities and add work to prevent concrete buckling; NH-P 0011(316) (rout & seal in the Aberdeen area) increased by $165,580.24 (60.5%) after additional crack sealing was required. Project P 0324(06)357 (SD 324 over Medary Creek) had a $231,781.30 CCO to remove unsound concrete discovered during construction. The Commission received the informational report; differences reflect as-built quantities and added work.
