Residents say district map redraw excludes Long Center, urge restoration

During public comment Sonia Carvelle said the district map has been redrawn in ways that exclude residents and concentrate influence with owners and developers. She asked the authority to “restore the district boundaries to include the Long Center” and to reopen genuine dialogue with neighborhood residents before moving forward.
Clerk Cecilia had earlier announced that the agenda item addressing proposed amendments to the Infrastructure Financing District and the draft Modified Infrastructure Financing Plan was being withdrawn and would be re-noticed. Commenters said the withdrawal did not lessen their concern about how the map was drawn and who would benefit from the public funds identified in the budget.
