SHRA reports clean financial opinion; federal award findings cleared

Kaye Giunta, assistant director of finance for the Sacramento Housing and Redevelopment Agency, presented the agency's audit follow-up and corrective-action progress to the council.
Giunta said the 2024 audit produced an unmodified, or clean, opinion on the agency's financial statements and identified one financial-report finding and five federal-award findings that required corrective action. She reported that SHRA implemented file corrections, strengthened management oversight, provided staff training, and improved monitoring and review processes; "I am pleased to report that all 5 federal award findings were cleared as part of the single audit for the year ended 2025," she said. Giunta also said finance staff continued to strengthen the financial close and reporting process and remained on track to meet 2025 audit reporting deadlines.
The SHRA presentation was framed as a required JPA status update when audits identify findings; the council received and filed the report and had no public commenters on that item at the time it was called.
