Jonathan Harrison, Road & Bridge director for the county, described the parcel's value to county operations and defended a lower county appraisal, citing unimproved parcel comparables and lack of wells, barns or fencing. "This property is very vital to us," Harrison said, and he asked the board to consider a collaborative agreement. Board members questioned differing appraisals (the board's appraisal near $130,000 vs. the county's $99,000), suggested possible middle-ground pricing, and ultimately the board moved, seconded and approved authorization to proceed with the letter of intent.
