"This is, basically a budget amendment for the purchase of the, Bishop property at 7582 Bishop Road," City Administrator Ron Harding told the council as he opened the public hearing. Harding said the amendment is being taken now to satisfy public notice requirements; staff will provide more detail in the administrator's written report and will execute closing steps once the state funding paperwork arrives. Harding said the loan approval is in place but the city cannot accept funds or finalize contracts until the paperwork is received from the funding agency. The council approved the resolution by voice vote with all members present voting in favor.
The vote authorizes staff to appropriate the purchase price from the park fund and directs city administration to complete required steps; Harding said staff may call a special meeting to accept funds if timing requires action between regular meetings. No public comments were offered specifically on the purchase during the hearing. Next steps include completing fund acceptance paperwork and finalizing acquisition documents once funding-agency conditions are satisfied.
