Board members, community praise superintendent pick; board notes retirement of longtime staffer

Board members and members of the public used the Feb. 26 special meeting to express support for the incoming superintendent and to note staff changes. Mrs. Whitehouse said the community is "devastated that Mr. Lanzalotto is retiring," and several parents of freshmen told her they appreciated the independence students received in their final year at Rumson-Fair Haven.
Public commenter Dr. David Aderhold spoke in support of Dr. McDonald, saying Dr. McDonald is "his right hand at West Windsor Plainsboro" and that he will be an asset to the district. Kathy Hellewa later commented that the board "did a wonderful job with the Superintendent search." The remarks preceded the board’s formal vote to approve Dr. McDonald’s contract. The meeting was adjourned at 6:47 p.m.; minutes were signed by Business Administrator/Board Secretary Sean S. Cranston.
