Counsel to send letters on road ownership; engineers flag damaged flow-way plug and conservation areas

District Counsel Lenore Brakefield described the Village of Estero's position that it does not need to maintain the road west of U.S. 41 to the Clubhouse, while District Counsel Tony Pires asserted the County is responsible. Mr. Pires will send letters to the Village of Estero and the County's counsel stating that the Village owns the road; Mr. Willis said he emailed Johnson Engineering documents supporting the position to Mr. Pires on Nov. 20, 2024.
District Engineer Charlie Krebs reported that the plug separating two flow-way basins may have been damaged during clearing, with water observed flowing from CB-199 behind 20855 Glen Eagles Links Drive; he will send details to Mrs. Adams for MRI to review and re-establish the plug. The board discussed vegetation management and Mrs. Adams cautioned against prescribed burns in residential communities and noted South Florida Water Management District (SFWMD) approval would be required for any clearing.
