Mayor briefs parks board on operations center, council backs $5.20/month parks fee

"So we had 80% paid for with existing revenues, but had to come up with a little bit more just to make sure we didn't have depths in the parks maintenance budget. So we did $5.20 a month," Bialososki said, describing the fee the council approved to support the operations center and related parks work.
Bialososki said the council will continue community outreach as it prepares a broader financial plan and noted the operations center budget will address centralized storage and efficiency for maintenance staff. Council liaison Gavin Bonnington and other board members emphasized transparency and the need to prioritize deferred maintenance before committing to new projects.
Board members raised equity and optics concerns about a flat monthly user fee; John Lindeman noted that the fee is the same for homeowners regardless of property value, an issue the council said it will consider as public outreach continues.
