Janet Lundquist said the county has pursued federal grants for the interchange and that a CRISI grant for design and right‑of‑way acquisition was received in 2022. Lundquist read the local match commitments into the record: when discussing local matches she stated Adams County "is contributing, 4,000,000, 395,000," Commerce City "is committing, 2,000,100 and and 80," and Brighton "is committing 2,717,000." Lundquist also said an engineering firm (FHU) was selected via RFP to lead design work. A commissioner thanked staff and partners; the board approved the IGA by motion and voice vote.
The IGA sets the county's reimbursement relationship with Commerce City as the project moves from design into later construction phases. Staff said the project has been pursued for more than a decade and credited intergovernmental collaboration in moving the design forward.
