Adams County awards $800,000 in community enrichment grants with a new focus on food security

"This year, Adams County used a 2 tier funding model to ensure support for food security initiatives while still including organizations focused on other community efforts," the Chair said. Tier 1 awards included 27 schools receiving $25,000 each to support unhoused students and families and nonprofit awards such as CASA of Adams ($25,000), Family Tree ($25,000) and Kids 1st Healthcare ($25,000). Tier 2 awards focused on food security included grants of $60,000 to Adams County Emergency Food Bank, Food Bank of the Rockies, Growing Home and others; School District 12 Education Foundation received $120,000 for a resource room food support network.
Presenters and commissioners thanked the organizations and partners. Staff asked awardees to come forward for certificates and group photos.
