The Public Safety Committee on July 28 voted to amend the 2026 budget to recognize and appropriate lease revenue from county radio towers (DOC ID 14224). Emergency Response staff said the lease was finalized after the budget was set and the extra revenue will help cover several shortfalls in the current year's budget.
"That's going to generate another $2,500 a month in revenue," Emergency Response said of a pending ten‑foot tower extension at Irish Hill, which a vendor will build. Committee members described the outcome as meeting a long-term goal to increase co‑locators and improve infrastructure, and the resolution passed in a roll‑call vote with all members present voting yes.
